FROM THE BOSS
Dear Friends and support team of Ashley,
I can’t adequately express how excited I am to have Ashley as part of the Global Engagement Team of YFC Canada and specifically her role as the co-ordinator of the Engage volunteer ministry. As a direct result of her ministry we have been able to strengthen our partnerships with Ukraine, Gambia, Hungary and Italy as she has deployed or received young volunteers or explored the possibility with those countries. Furthermore, as a direct result of her efforts we have developed new partnerships with YFC in Cyprus and Ireland. The practical result of this is clear. Young people from Canada have experiences that have and will shape them in remarkable ways and will equip them for a better understanding of how God is working in our world and how they can participate in His mission here on earth.
It has also helped local chapters of YFC in Canada expand their vision of how God might use them in the world-wide mission of reaching youth for Christ in ways that are transformative. One YFC staff from Canada recently noted that working with the Engage ministry (i.e.: Ashley) they have learned a whole new way of thinking about the world and God’s activity in it. This will make a difference in their ministry here in Canada and now, around the world.
Thank you for being part of Ashley’s team – keep it up, and if you can, increase your level of partnership so that we can move even further forward.
Blessings and peace,
Daryl Stogryn
Director of Global Engagement

FROM THE VOLUNTEERS

“[I’ve learned that God] knows what I’m supposed to do, when I’m supposed to do it, and how it’s supposed to happen… So I think I’ve become more patient; I’m trying to give Him more control… Trusting that He knows more and that His plan is way better. [Also] He’s shown me that everyone, every person, is extremely important to Him.”

“ENGAGE has been a great opportunity to develop who I am, there has been moments of self discovery too, but so far the greatest part for me has been developing and using the skills I already had in new and challenging ways, its forcing me to learn and grow and try new things within that!”

“I’ve felt a call on my life to become a missionary since I can remember and finally – through YFC’s ENGAGE Program – I’m going on my first missions trip! I want to change the lives of young people by being there for them, guiding them and showing them the love of Jesus.”

BECOME AN ENGAGE PARTNER
COMMIT TO MONTHLY PARTNERSHIP FOR 2019
I’m 68% of the way to my full time goal of 40hrs a week! To help me reach this goal, I am looking for 15 more families to partner with me on a monthly basis for 2019 – at any amount, from $10 to $100! Will you be one of those families? Monthly partnerships to my ministry account increase the amount of hours I can work in a week, directly increasing the capacity of the ENGAGE Program.

GIVE A ONE-TIME YEAR END DONATION
One-time donations to the ENGAGE ministry help to cover costs such as training supplies, volunteer recruitment, and ENGAGE related travel. While monthly partnerships are so valuable for sustainability, larger one-time donations help to increase the program’s overall capacity. In 2019, I am planning increased national promotion of the ENGAGE program to Christian colleges across Canada, a scouting trip to South American YFC ministries, a training opportunity with YFC Germany’s international volunteer program, and potentially even hiring a Program Assistant; these projects are largely enabled by one-time donations to the ENGAGE ministry!
