As you might know, this month I had the incredible opportunity to attend Youth For Christ International’s General Assembly, a gathering of YFC staff from around the world that happens once every three years. There were several things that almost got in the way of this event, but despite a fire in our original hotel, a record-breaking hurricane, and visa troubles, over 300 international leaders were able to meet and share in the vision of YFC. It was so inspiring to hear prayers, testimonies, and encouragement in multiple languages, and to know that even though the group represented over 70 nations, that our common goal is “As part of the body of Christ, to see that every young person in every people group in every nation has the opportunity to make an informed decision to be a follower of Jesus Christ and become a part of a local church“.

Attending this conference gave me the opportunity to meet international YFC National Directors who celebrated my new position and excitedly asked when I could send them Canadian volunteers. Take a peek at this video (below!) to see the ripple-effect impact that a Canadian missionary volunteer can make on a community; thanks to one volunteer who taught English, a group of students now have prolific jobs in the community in finance, business, and even as as an administrative staff for the local YFC centre –  increasing the capacity of the YFC in The Gambia to reach every young person for Jesus. By partnering with me, YFC Canada’s International Volunteer Program (Engage!) Coordinator, you are enabling me to send out more volunteers around the world. Even $25/month can make a world of a difference!
YES, I’D LIKE TO BECOME A MONTHLY PARTNER.

Seal Jammeh, YFC National Director in The Gambia, shares with me some quick thoughts on how Canadian missionary volunteers have made a difference in his ministry and community. Filmed last week during a conversation at YFC’s General Assembly conference.
